Two day tour
Day One: At 8am, you leave Arequipa and go by bus to Chivay (5 hours). During the journey you will visit the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca (4000 metres above sea level) where you may be lucky enough to see Peru's National animal, the Vicuna. At the Mirador of the Volcanoes (4800m) you will stop at the Mirador of the Volcanoes (Lookout over the Volcanoes) where you can see a range of high mountain birds in their natural habitat. At Chivay, we will visit the medicinal hot springs and stay the night. There is the opportunity to visit a local dance troupe performing a 'pena'. Overnight: Chivay
Day
two: Colca Canyon - Arequipa
You will have an early start today, before dawn. You will visit one of
the deepest parts of the Colca canyon at the Cruz del Condor and hopefully
see a condor gliding over your head. You will also visit villages in the
Colca Canyon where people have unique customs and dress from other parts
of Peru.
