The best photos from one day hikes around Cusco. there are many little known sites in the cusco district - few tourists find them.

the fabulous agricultural research station of moray, visited during shapes of the past.

this view, hiking up to the pisac ruins from the village of pisac really gives you an appreciation of the inca's stone working skills. visited during descending to the sacred valley.

another example of careful inca stone work, this time at the little known ruins of maukallacta, visited during to the origin of the incas.

the awesome shapes, varying colours and size of salineras make it a photographer's dream! visited during shapes of the past.

this rainbow appeared after a heavy shower during a hike to the ruins of puma marca, visited during the inca fortresses tour.

the inca carcel (prison) and k'alla cancha ruins are so close to cusco at times you can hear horns beeping - and yet no one visits tthese extensive ruins.
