When booking a hotel in Lima it's important to decide where you want to stay, as there are a number of different areas and districts that offer vastly different experiences.
As befitting a company that tries to immerse its passengers as much as possible in Peruvian culture and provide a "real" rather than sanitized version of Peru, Apus Peru believes that the heart of Lima provides an authentic look at this capital city.
For the best of shopping, dining and hip and happening Latin nightlife, Mirafores is probably more your style. It's also generally considered safer than Central Lima. San Isidro is located not far from Miraflores, and is a residential district. It's very quiet and safe though a little remote from restaurants and other activities.
Airport hotels are limited, and only recommended if you are only staying one night in Lima! (Otherwise, you are better off to go to Miraflores, 35 minutes drive when there is no traffic, along the coast. Miraflores is closer to the airport than downtown Lima is).
Popular backpackers hostels, where you can party and meet others are listed here. You should contact these hostals to book them directly.
