Why trek with Apus Peru? There are a multitude of reasons, all carefully explained in our comprehensive website - but to summarise:

  1. We are travelers ourselves, having backpacked and toured through Asia and South America. We understand what it is like to travel.
  2. Every trek offered was first explored by our management in the spirit of adventure in the Andes. We have spent six years traveling and exploring Peru, from well known destinations like Machu Picchu to remote outposts in the Amazon.
  3. We are honest and forthright in our dealings with clients and post a large number of easily accessible reports from our clients on our website. Our prices and policies are clearly listed upfront on our website and there are no hidden costs.
  4. We offer excellent value for money. Check out our inclusions – everything is included PLUS we offer responsible travel. Compared to other “eco” agencies we come out offering very fair prices.
  5. We will depart with two people any day of the year – for reasonable prices which are all listed on our website.
  6. We are a small, family owned business that provides personalized attention from beginning to the end of your trek or tour.  We take the time to answer each individual query and custom design your experience.
  7. We provide objective and balanced pre-trek information in our Travellers Code of Conduct which outlines our approach to responsible tourism.
  8. We have a sustainability policy which covers a wide range of environmental, social and economic indicators, and we frequently revise this policy to ensure we are “on track”.  This includes the employment of staff from remote, local indigenous communities. All staff are treated in a responsible and fair manner and receive incomes above industry standards.
  9. We focus on unique experiences... with this ethos of quality not quantity we do not have big, cheap groups departing frequently.
  10. 5% of our turnover (not profit!) is contributed to community projects in the high Andes area.  This is not a token contribution to community development, it is a core part of our business.
  11. We operate all of our own treks and have complete control over the quality of our service. Its very important to us that everyone involved in the tour (from the guy that picks you up to the muleteer’s assistant) are well treated and receive a fair income.
  12. We offer a 5% discount to members of South American Explorers Club (for treks)
