This past week, Mick Jagger was in Peru, and spent several days in Cusco! While here, he stayed at Inkaterra´s La Casona, a beautiful hotel located in Plaza Nazarenes, and spent a day at Machu Picchu. While small crowds of local and tourists gathered when he was spotted around town shopping or dining, it was nothing compared to what you would expect for a member of the Rolling Stones!

On his first day here, one of my favorite stores in Cusco was closed to the public for several hours to allow him to shop in private. The store, Tienda-Museo Textil de Josefina Olivares e Hijos, is filled with amazing examples of antique and contemporary handwoven textiles from the department of Cusco and many other areas of Peru. For anyone planning a trip to Cusco, this place is definitely worth a visit!

From Cusco, Mick went on to Puerto Maldonado, where he met with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and visited the rainforest of Reserva Nacional Tambopata.
