At Apus Peru we’ve noticed that while some people have an adventurous spirit and love to hike in the mountains, they also like to do with a degree of comfort. (Its a holiday after all!) Therefore, while our standard treks are very comfortable, with the Comfort Camping option is 4 star camping. Comfort Camping
Comfort Camping takes some of the hardship out of the trek! (though you still have to hike! This means that all of Apus Peru high quality guides, meals and transport are the same as with a normal tour – but on this tour you go for a more comfortable camping option.
Included
- Small camp bed (approx. 6 inches off floor) with thermarest mattress means you are not sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Thicker foam mattress.
- Inflatable pillow
- A deluxe sleeping bag rated at -15 degrees
- Larger tents. These tents are designed to fit the camp beds and also give you more space to move, and particularly stand up. (Our tents are already spacious for 2 people, but you still have to be sitting down to change your pants etc…)
- Comfortable camping chairs with backs.
- Hot water shower and shower tent. Note, as we need to boil the water for heating the shower water, the showers need to be very short – but still provide a way of getting clean at the end of a hard days trekking.
- One high quality *Black Diamond* walking stick.
This option costs $45 per day, for the length of the tour.
** People who do not want the "Comfort Camping" option can opt to do normal camping on the same trek as people doing "Comfort Camping"... ethically, while their fellow trekkers will be using the shower tent they will not be permitted to! Also... they will have different chairs at the table. (It can be a little awkward.)
