That means that our baseline operations centre around the wellbeing of all of our staff, including the guides, porters, cooks and muleteers that we work with. As an ethical tour operator, we pay our staff well – frequently above the going rate – and provide annual health benefits to office staff and personal accident insurance for guides, porters, muleteers and chefs. We abide by all laws, and ensure that each trek departs with the right amount of porters, so that no one carries more than they should. This is all part of what it means to follow ethical tourism practices.
