Option 1: Refugio Amazonas – 3 days / 2 nights

At Refugio Amazonas, you stay in a charming ecolodge nestled in the heart of a chestnut forest of the Tambopata National Reserve. Settle into a spacious room with a private bathroom and an open window facing the forest, enjoying three daily meals, tea and coffee, and personalized guided excursions.

On your first afternoon, we climb the 40-meter Canopy Tower to enjoy panoramic views of the rainforest and spot toucans, macaws, and raptors soaring above the treetops. In the evening, we attend a night lecture from Wired Amazon researchers and explore nocturnal wildlife.

On day two, we visit the Macaw Clay Lick at dawn, watching colorful macaws and parrots gather for a stunning spectacle. Later, we set up camera traps along trails to the local Amazon farm, capturing elusive wildlife and supporting conservation research. We also explore the farm, learning about sustainable agriculture and the deep connection between the local community and the forest.

Option 2: Posada Amazonas – 3 days / 2 nights

At Posada Amazonas Lodge, you stay in a spacious room with an open wall facing the forest, surrounded by the private reserve of the Ese Eja Native Community of Infierno. You enjoy three daily meals and guided excursions, and on your first afternoon, you hike to the 40‑meter Canopy Tower to take in panoramic views of the rainforest and the Tambopata River, spotting toucans, parrots, and mixed‑species flocks. In the evening, you attend a lecture on Amazon biodiversity and conservation.

On day two, you explore Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake by catamaran, searching for giant river otters, caimans, and lakeside birds, then visit Centro Ñape to learn about medicinal plants and their uses. You can also take an optional night walk to see unique nocturnal wildlife.

Option 3: Posada Amazonas – 3 days / 2 nights

This five-day itinerary offers a more immersive Amazon experience than the shorter trips, starting at Posada Amazonas Lodge with its forest-facing rooms and the 40-meter Canopy Tower. You’ll visit Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake to spot giant river otters, transfer to the Tambopata Research Center surrounded by natural macaw nests, and explore the famous macaw clay lick at dawn.

Hikes through rainforest trails, creek and water habitats, sunset river cruises, and night lectures provide a deeper look at wildlife and conservation, all while supporting the Wired Amazon Program and the Ese Eja community.

Option 4: Posada Amazonas – Paddington Adventure in Tambopata for Families

This four-day family expedition is designed to bring the rainforest alive for both kids and adults. Children are welcomed with a special explorer ritual, including seed bracelets and temporary Amazonian tattoos, setting the stage for a journey of learning and fun.

Over the next days, the family experiences sunrise from the 40-meter Canopy Tower, visits the macaw clay lick, and hikes to the ancient Giant Ceiba tree while learning Amazonian legends and the importance of conservation. At Tres Chimbadas Lake, everyone paddles in canoes in search of giant river otters and other wildlife, followed by a magical sunset cruise along the river. Evenings include a participation in the Wired Amazon “Discovering New Species” program, letting children act as young scientists and potentially spot species new to science.
