From Cusco we travel by public bus to the quaint mountain town of Chinchero, often visited for its colourful market days and colonial church.Click here for a map of the Sacred Valley
We immediately delve deeper by leaving the well constructed Inca plaza and discovering the extensive terraced ruins of Chinchero. From here we descend by the Inka Ñan, (the network of Inka roads that linked their ancient towns) through a spectacular valley with views of the snow capped peaks that were worshipped by the Incas.
After lunch by a mountain stream we have a rare glimpse into traditional life in the Sacred Valley. We pass through farmland once culitvated by the Inkas - who left magnificent terraces still in full production today.
Crossing the Urubamba River we take public transport to Pisac, and then take a taxi up to these magnificent ruins. We descend through the ruins down to the village of Pisac. This hike reveals the truly magnificent abilities of the Incas. We return by public bus to Cusco. Please Note: This tour does not incorporate a visit to the market at Pisac.
Departure: 7.30am Plaza de Armas, Cusco Return: 7.30pm to Plaza de Armas
Hiking: Chinchero - Urquillas 3 hours, Pisac Ruins 3 hours

What you need to bring: Your Boleto Turistico (Tourist Ticket), money for snacks and souvenirs, water bottle, hat, sunscreen, jumper (sweater), rain protection (or plastic poncho), plus any other personal items you might wish.
We offer affordably priced tours for two people so that you can depart on most days. If you are travelling alone, you can still depart on this tour, any day. (Price: US $100)
