Apus Peru specializes in sustainable, unique trekking experiences in the Andean region. We explore places no one else goes! Private treks depart any day, or join a group listed on Trekkers Wanted. Routes feature Ausangate, Ancascocha and Choquequirao, and our cultural treks combine attractions such as Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail and Salkantay with seldom-visited ruins, remote indigenous communities, festivals and more. Tours in the Sacred Valley and Cusco are available, along with added travel in Arequipa, Lake Tititcaca, Lima and more!
We offer carefully crafted treks that capture the spirit of discovery we feel every time we venture out into the Andes.
Like slow food, we advocate slow tourism. Take the time to absorb, enjoy and savor the experience of exploring new places. Leave the crowds behind and connect with the REAL Peru!
Over 200,000 Miles Trekked Since 2000
Our guide, Elizabeth, was one of the most experienced and knowledgeable guides I have ever had.
We loved the trek very much, the team was wonderful! Fortunato is a top-notch chef and the porters are absolutely amazing! Very very helpful, very cheerful and unbeliveably strong. The best!
I noticed the care to minimize our footprint, purchase of local products, avoidance of plastic as well as processed foods and emphasis on local culture.
We really appreciated the environmental care and the support to local indigenous communities. We were really pleased to be able to support a small, locally based company and help the local economy.
Apus Peru was an incredible choice for us to do a dream trip to Machu Picchu. We presented the team at Apus with a number of logistical requests and requirements which they met cheerfully and with ease, and we ended up having the custom trip of a lifetime.
This is really glamping. We had a large crew, and many horses and llamas carrying our stuff. The campsites were set up for us and we were served lavish meals in the middle of nowhere. A great trekking experience.
Could not recommend Choquequirao more it was completely tranquil and felt like such an authentic experience arriving with only one other group there! The hike is difficult but definitely worth it.
The Apus cook was a star, providing delicious, creative, healthy, and plentiful meals and snacks including fresh fruit and vegetables cooked properly (not mushy). My partner’s dietary restrictions were also 100% accommodated and there was real coffee (not instant). We ate better on this trek than on any other trek we’ve done!
Going private is not as expensive as you think… I was surprised at the cost and it was well worth it. Our 2 Day Hike to Machu Picchu was perfect – we could explore and go at our own pace.
We were so happy to find Apus Peru – sustainable, community-focused and authentic. The trek was stunning and seemed so remote. Our guide was simply fantastic.
