Rosalinas Bridge on 5th May 2012

The latest news on the re-opening of the Choquequirao trek is that yesterday the local people worked in faena (communal work for the benefit of the community) to construct an Oroya (small cable car crossing) at the site of the Playa Rosalinas bridge.   (Please email us directly for more information about an Oroya and whether it’s a suitable option for your group).

The current estimation for the Oroya becoming operational is mid May and we are recommending if you are trekking mid to late May that you should consider re-routing your trek.    If you are trekking within the next few weeks we would appreciate your patience as we work on personalized solutions for every group.
