The latest news on the re-opening of the Choquequirao trek is that yesterday the local people worked in faena (communal work for the benefit of the community) to construct an Oroya (small cable car crossing) at the site of the Playa Rosalinas bridge. The current estimation for the Oroya becoming operational is mid May and we are recommending if you are trekking mid to late May that you should consider re-routing your trek.
