One Day Machu Picchu by Train- Itinerary
For the One Day option you catch your choice of either the Backpacker train or the Vistadome.
Expedition option
(formally known as the backpacker option) This is the cheapest, but still a very comfortable way of getting to Machu Picchu. The excursion leaves at 6:15 am and includes the transfer from your hotel. You arrive in Machu Picchu around 10:15. A guided tour is included as well as the bus ticket from the train station to the ruins (roundtrip) and the entrance fee to the ruins. You arrive back in Cusco around 8:00 pm.
If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu, permits need to be organised at the time of booking.
Vistadome option
A more memorable way of visiting Machu Picchu. The trip leaves at 6:00 am and includes the transfer from your hotel. You arrive in Machu Picchu around 9:45. A guided tour is included, as well as the bus ticket from the train station to the ruins (roundtrip) and the entrance fee to the ruins. You arrive back in Cusco around 7:30 pm. Compared to the backpacker the Vistadome train is faster, has snack-service, bigger windows and is generally a more comfortable experience
If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu, permits need to be organised at the time of booking.
